Cyprus is one of the better Kitesurfing destinations in the Mediterrannean and whilst offering multiple kite spots with varied conditions to suit all levels of kite surfers, it is still uncrowded.
Imagine ripping through peachy flat water hearing the gurgle of your board, the silence as you launch yourself skyward of the lip of a small but well formed wave – all great fun and is just the beginning of a great week or two in Cyprus.
In Paphos, the kite surfers meet at the little bay opposite Secret Valley. From the Eden Apartment, simply follow the Thumb of the Kings road to the end, turn left through a couple of roundabouts until you reach the main high way and then drive out of town about 20km until you come to the Kouklia exit. From the old coastal road, follow down the tracks until you reach the bay and enjoy westerly winds throughout most of the year.
Another kite surfing beach is located off the little village called Pissouri which is a further 15km on the highway east bound.
